Carys Wood, aged 18, who performs on the trumpet and is from Pembrokeshire, has been supported by the charity, with awards contributing to musical instruments, lessons and travel costs - and she said it was "amazing" to be taking part in the evening's event. "Music can be very expensive," Carys said. She is now a student at the prestigious music academy, and added that "each individual ought to be given the possibility" to develop their musical skills. Generations Gathering Carys's 11-year-old sister, Eliza, who plays the euphonium, will likewise attend the Abbey. "It's unbelievable that I get to perform here in front of so many distinguished guests," she said. Within the audience will be people from various age groups. That will include young Saphia Turner, nine, honouree of a prize for youthful altruism, who creates and sells art and completes fundraising tasks to generate funds for local food charities.
